Australian efficacy data for chemicals used in soil barriers against subterranean termites

A field method used for assessing the efficacy of persistent insecticides for the control of subterranean termites in Australia is described. The field sites were located in both temperate and tropical climates in Northern Territory, Queensland and New South Wales, so that the compounds tested were exposed to a range of conditions, soil types and termite communities. The main species were Mastotermes darwiniensis, Coptotermes sp., Heterotermes, Schedorhinotermes and Nasutitermes.
