The Australian flora is a rich source of highly ornamental plants and work on screening decorative species which could be developed as flowering pot plants is reported. Initially, flowering plants were placed under simulated home conditions (SHC) and those where a shelf life exceeded 14 days were further evaluated. Chamelaucium uncinatum, a popular cut flower, could be grown as a compact pot plant (using growth retardants) and remained in flower under SHC for up to 6 weeks.
