Autumn sown bulb onions: use of metoxuron post-emergence

, : Autumn sown bulb onions: use of metoxuron post-emergence. Proceedings, Crop Protection in Northern Britain 1987, Dundee University, 15-17 March 1987: 417-421

Trials were conducted in 1982-85 on 3 different soil types with field-drilled overwintered onions Senshyu Semi-Globe Yellow using a standard pre-em. regime. 1 or 2 kg metoxuron/ha applied at the 1.5 true leaf stage did not significantly reduce marketable yield in 2 of the 3 years, but treatment at the post-crook 1-true-leaf or 2.5-true-leaf stages reduced yield compared with the hand-weeded control treatment.
