Bacterial leaching of a sulfide ore by Thiobacillus ferrooxidans and Thiobacillus thiooxidans: I. Shake flask culture
Bacterial leaching of a sulphide ore containing pyrite, chalcopyrite, and sphalerite was studied in a shake flask experiment using T. ferrooxidans and T. thiooxidans strs isolated from mine sites. Preferential leaching of copper, zinc and iron was observed, according to organism and leaching conditions.
