Bandages for preservative treatment of wood

Bandages for preservative treatment of wood

Latvijas PSR Zinatnu Akademijas Vestis (3): 117-118

A brief account of a new type of bandage for transmission poles, developed in Latvia, consisting of (i) an outer layer of waterproof sheet and (ii) an inner layer of preservative paste (containing Dohnalit salts) retained within a double layer of non-woven adhesive fabric. The use of this fabric enables the loading of preservative salts to be increased to 1200 g/msuperscript 2, nearly double that of conventional bandage treatments.
