Behavior of imazaquin in soybean (Glycine max) and sicklepod (Cassia obtusifolia)

The absorption, translocation and metabolism of 14C-imazaquin by soyabeans and C. obtusifolia were studied after root and leaf treatments. The rate required to induce 50% growth reduction of upper shoots in C. obtusifolia was only 10% of that required for soyabeans. Uptake of imazaquin was 23.5 and 37.5% in soyabeans and 3 and 56.7% in C. obtusifolia in roots and shoots, resp. Distribution of 14C-imazaquin was similar in both spp.
