This paper was presented at the CMEA conference on small-angle scattering of X-rays and neutrons, held in Puscino, USSR on 24-28 Sept. 1985. Wide-angle diffuse X-ray scattering was used to compare intramolecular packing of human alpha -lactalbumin in native (neutral pH, room temp.) and molten globule (acid pH, high temp.) states.
