Conditions for child development amongst rural families

on the basis of 55 interviews conducted between 1981-85 in the Polish commune of Widawa, Sieradzim voivodship, some tentative conclusions are drawn about the influence of the rural environment on a child's development. Particular emphasis was placed on the influence of parents and immediate family. The sample population comprised mainly families of 4-5 members. Almost one sixth of families had 6+ members.
