Abstract
A key is given to the component taxa of the C. sempervirens complex. C. bulgarica and C. sempervirens subsp. pseudotristis had stomata on both sides of the leaves whereas subsp. sempervirens and subsp. tristis had stomata on the lower surface only. The geographical distribution of various attributes of the complex is discussed.
