In field trials in 1982-84, F. arundinacea was sown during 15 Mar.-15 Apr. or 5 Aug.-5 Sep. in a pure stand or 70% F. arundinacea + 30% Medicago sativa or Onobrychis viciifolia or Trifolium pratense. 70 kg P2O5/ha was applied in autumn after the last cut and 120 kg N/ha was split between 80 kg in spring and 40 kg after the 2nd cut. DM yields were not significantly different between sowing dates.
