Contribution to the forecasting of desertification processes in south Priaral'e



Problems of Desert Development (5): 48-54



The desertification of south Priaral'e is directly connected with the falling level of the Aral Sea. It is shown by the widespread development of drought and salt resistant plant communities, in the accumulation of salt in te root zone, in the intensification of aeolian processes and in the formation of deflation and accumulation relief forms.
