Contribution to the study of the banana root system. Design of rhizotrons and first results



Fruits 42(5): 265-271



In one of the systems described, banana plants are grown on a solid substrate and in the other the roots grow in a nutrient mist. Observations on root production in relation to plant development, and on root growth, are presented. An endogenous rhythm of root production was noted.
