Control of Globodera rostochiensis using a D-D type nematicide produced in Poland

, : Control of Globodera rostochiensis using a D-D type nematicide produced in Poland. Materiay Sesji Naukowej Instytutu Ochrony Roslin 25: 361-368

Nematox liquid 50, containing not less than 50% of 1,3-dichloropropene, 48% 1,2-dichloropropane and 2% 1,2,3-trichloropropane, is produced in Poland from a chemical by product. In field tests at 300 and 600 dmsuperscript 3/ha (applied to the soil by plough-rotary cultivator) it controlled 91-99% of nematodes (plant parasites, mycophages, saprobionts). At 600 dmsuperscript 3/ha the control of plant parasitic forms was similar to that of Telone (produced abroad) at 200 dmsuperscript 3/ha.

From March to October 2003, a total of 2,518 host-seeking Ixodes ricinus ticks (1,944 nymphs, 264 females, 310 males) were collected by blanket dragging at 45 sites all over the city area of Bonn, western Germany, to be checked for Borrelia burgdo...

In the semi-arid Voivodina region, maize generally receives 2-3 (seldom 4) irrigations during full growth (July-Aug.) depending on the weather conditions. Highest yields resulted from irrigating to maintain soil moisture at 70-75% of field capacit...
