Control of Ipomoea carnea jacq. with herbicides
Optimal control of I. carnea growing in drainage channels near Bapatla in 1982-83 was obtained using (a) 3.6 kg 2,4-D amine, followed by (b) 3 kg 2,4-D sodium salt + 1 litre Sandovit/ha + 3% urea. In 1983-84, treatment (a) was also the most effective, followed by (c) 4 kg 2,4-D sodium salt + 0.5 kg paraquat/ha. Treatment (a) was the most effective at suppressing resprouting in both years of the study.
