Control of Lymantria monacha - Bactospeine and Thuridan

Preparations of Bacillus thuringiensis were tested for control of L. monacha in Poland in areas where low toxicity to fish and mammals is of key importance. Bactospeine emulsion at 1.2-1.5 kg/ha gave variable results depending on application vol. and tree species: in Scots pine stands, control was usually 80-100% effective and in pine/Norway spruce and pine/broadleaved stands 30-80%.
