Control of Oriental fruit moth by mating disruption

Grapholita molesta has been an important pest of peach and nectarine in California since the 1950's. Mating disruption by means of sex pheromone dispensers placed in the trees, which had proved successful in Australia, was applied in 5 peach and nectarine orchards in California in 1985.
