Control of Thrips tabaci (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) on glasshouse cucumber using large introductions of predatory mites Amblyseius barkeri (Acarina: Phytoseiidae)

The phytoseiid Amblyseius barkeri was used for biological control of Thrips tabaci on cucumber in 7 commercial greenhouses covering an area of 5780 msuperscript 2 in Denmark. Predatory mites were introduced 3-4 times at densities ranging from 40 to 300/msuperscript 2 at each release.
