Control of a mixed-flow drier: Part 2. Testing the control algorithm

The control algorithm performed much as predicted by the mathematical model. Mixing of grain in the drier reduced the speed of response and so the gain in the controller was increased to compensate. After this, the controller gave a rapid response to errors, and only showed slight oscillation in the extreme case of controlled start-up from a drier full of wet grain.
