Control of common chickweed (Stellaria media) and clover safety of herbicides in autumn sown grass/clover leys

Lolium perenne/Phleum pratense/Trifolium repens swards sown in late Aug. 1984 and 1985 in Scotland were used to test the effectiveness of a range of herbicides. Promising new materials when applied in autumn 1984, a benazolin/2,4-DB/MCPA mixture (CR17139) and a standard benazolin/2,4-DB/MCPA mixture + linuron, were retested in 1985/86 over 3 spraying dates.
