Control of embryo maturation in Brassica napus

Both ABA and high osmoticum could substitute for the seed environment in excised B. napus embryos which have not begun to lose water in that both prevented germination and maintained embryonic gene expression. While ABA no longer mimicked the seed environment for desiccation stage embryos, high osmoticum was still effective.
