Control of follicular growth and development

Control of follicular growth and development

Journal of Reproduction and Fertility. Supplement 34: 39-54

A review, mainly of work on farm livestock and laboratory mammals. During folliculogenesis, a group of growing preantral follicles becomes responsive and dependent upon gonadotropins, especially FSH, for their continued growth and differentiation. However, most of these follicles undergo atresia.
