Control of grass grub by four types of roller

Control of grass grub by four types of roller

Proceedings of the Thirty Ninth New Zealand Weed and Pest Control Conference Quality Inn, Palmerston North, August 12th to 14th, 1986: 15-18

Four types of heavy roller were tested for the control of the scarabaeid Costelytra zealandica in a pasture in New Zealand. A conventional 10-t agricultural roller gave no significant larval mortality or increase in pasture yield. The other rollers, which were specially constructed to control the scarabaeid, gave 35-53% reduction in larval numbers and 18-25% increase in spring pasture yield in the following growing season.
