Control of house flies in commercial poultry houses in Connecticut



Poultry Science 65(5): 837-844



In studies conducted in poultry houses in Connecticut, the relative numbers of adults of Musca domestica, as measured by mean numbers of fly specks per 12.1 cmsuperscript 2 per day, were significantly correlated with the frequency of removal of poultry droppings. Values were <less or =>3.6 and <more or =>6.2 specks, respectively, when poultry droppings were removed 4 or more times and 0-2 times within 3 weeks.
