The efficacy of one or two sprays of Sumicidin at 20 or 30 g a.i./ha against the pyralid Chilo partellus on maize was evaluated in field studies in Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1980. The 1st spray was given when the crop was 10 days old and the second 15 days later. In addition, Furadan granules at 1 kg a.i./ha were applied as a side dressing.
