Phaseolus vulgaris UI 1140 was given pre-sowing applications of 6 litres Bonalan (benfluralin) or 8 litres Capsolane (EPTC)/ha with or without 1.5 kg Granurex (neburon) or 2.5 litres Monamex (monolinuron + butralin)/ha. No crop phytotoxicity occurred in terms of stems/msuperscript 2 recorded on 30 June at the 5- to 6-trifoliate-leaf stage.
