Control of photosynthetic sucrose synthesis in barley primary leaves: role of fructose 2,6-bisphosphate

Control of photosynthetic sucrose synthesis in barley primary leaves: role of fructose 2,6-bisphosphate

Plant Physiology 82(1): 15-18

Levels of fructose 2,6-bisphosphate in young barley leaves, which were about 0.4 nmol/mg chlorophyll at the end of a 12-h dark period, rapidly increased at first in the light, then decreased to about 0.1 nmol/mg chlorophyll after 5 or 10 min of light and remained low throughout the day.
