Control of pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella Saunders) with chlorinated hydrocarbons insecticides

, : Control of pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella Saunders) with chlorinated hydrocarbons insecticides. Pesticides 20(8): 54-55

The efficacy of toxaphene and DDT, alone and in combination at 1.25 and 1.5 kg a.i./ha, against the gelechiid Pectinophora gossypiella on cotton was compared with that of carbaryl at 1.25 a.i./kg in field studies in Punjab, India. A total of 5 sprays was given at an interval of 10 days. Infestation of bolls and loculi by P. gossypiella was lowest in carbaryl-treated plots.
