Control of red rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) in rice (O. sativa L.)

, : Control of red rice (Oryza rufipogon Griff.) in rice (O. sativa L.). Surinaamse Landbouw 33(2-3): 35-43

Flooding at 15 days after sowing rice significantly stimulated red rice (O. rufipogon) densities and seed production/msuperscript 2 compared with flooding at 5 days after sowing. Cultivated rice sowing rates (120 or 180 kg/ha) had no consistent effect on red rice density or seed production. A higher number of red rice panicles/plant and seeds/panicle was achieved with early flooding than with late flooding.
