Control of rice stem borer and leaf folder in hilly region

The efficacy of the insecticides carbaryl, Metacid and fenitrothion, all at 0.75 kg a.i./ha, against the noctuid Sesamia inferens and the pyralid Cnaphalocrocis medinalis on rice varieties KH 863 and Himdhan was evaluated in a hilly region of Uttar Pradesh, India, in 1979. The crops were sprayed either twice, on the 30th and 50th days after transplanting, or three times, on the 30th, 40th and 60th days after transplanting.
