Control of stem canker and black scurf in potatoes with a sprayable formulation of tolclofos-methyl



1986 British Crop Protection Conference Pests and Diseases Vol 3: 1071-1076



Tolclofos-methyl, formulated as a suspension concentrate, was extensively tested in UK potato trials during 1984-86. The results confirm that, applied as an 'into or out of store' pre-planting spray to seed tubers at 125-250 g a.i./t, control of stem canker and black scurf (Rhizoctonia solani) is equivalent to the commercially used 10% dust formulation applied 'at planting'. The spray can be applied through standard tuber misting equipment to seed potatoes passing over a roller table.
