Good control of C. gronovii was obtained with 0.28-2.24 kg propyzamide, 5.6-11.2 kg chlorthal-dimethyl, 1.12 kg dichlobenil and 8.4 kg chlorpropham/ha all pre-em. Attemps to control attached C. gronovii with amleic hydrazine, glyphosate and sulphosate were unsatisfactory. Good correlation was found between mean daily air temp. and mean soil temp. at 1 inch depth.
