Control of the oestrous cycle in gilts by means of Allyl trenbolone
100 Landrace and Duroc gilts, aged 7.5 months, and 10 Large White gilts, aged 10 months, were fed 20 mg alpha -trenbolone (altrenogest) daily for 18 days. Of the gilts aged 7.5 months, 88 and 10% exhibited oestrus within 9 and 14 days resp. of the end of treatment, 79 and 80% became pregnant, and litter size at birth averaged 7.8 and 8.3 piglets.
