Control of the vine moth (Eupoecilia ambiguella Hb.) and the grape moth (Lobesia botrana Den. & Schiff.) by means of the ovicidal action of an insect growth regulator

Control of the vine moth (Eupoecilia ambiguella Hb.) and the grape moth (Lobesia botrana Den. & Schiff.) by means of the ovicidal action of an insect growth regulator

Mitteilungen der Schweizerischen Entomologischen Gesellschaft 59(3-4): 251-262

The results are presented of various field trials with fenoxycarb (mainly at a concentration of 0.0075%, at the beginning and/or end of the flight period) against the egg stage in the 1st and 2nd generations of Eupoecilia ambiguella and Lobesia botrana on grapes in Switzerland. Early applications generally gave better results than later ones, since the activity of the insect growth regulator decreased rapidly in eggs older than 2 days.
