The control of Eupoecilia ambiguella, a pest of grapes, by mating disruption using Hercon flakes impregnated with an artificial sex pheromone was investigated in western Switzerland in 1983-86. Sex-attractant trap catches and matings of tethered females were almost completely inhibited by the attractant at 25-75 g/ha in the flight period.
