Control of the yellow pecan aphid, Monelliopsis pecanis Bissell, with aldicarb

, : Control of the yellow pecan aphid, Monelliopsis pecanis Bissell, with aldicarb. Information Bulletin, Citrus and Subtropical Fruit Research Institute, South Africa (175): 16-20

In a trial with pecan trees severely infested with Monelliopsis pecanis, the effects were compared of soil applications of aldicarb granules (15% a.i.) at 5, 8 or 11 g/msuperscript 2 (equivalent to 125, 200 and 275 g/tree respectively). All concentrations gave good control, and 24 days after treatment the average numbers of aphids per 8 compound leaves were reduced to 44, 5 and 4, respectively, compared with 339 on untreated controls.
