Control of ticks Alweonasus lahorensis in the winter period

, : Control of ticks Alweonasus lahorensis in the winter period. Veterinariya, Moscow, USSR (3): 39-40

In the Dagesthan ASSR, USSR, larvae of the argasid Alveonasus lahorensis (Ornithodoros lahorensis) begin to appear on sheep in December and the larvae and nymphs are most abundant in February-March. The numbers drop sharply in April-May. When poured on to sheep, sulfidophos at 50 mg/kg body weight or Dioxafos at 40 mg/kg gave effective control of the larvae and nymphs.
