Control stored grain insects by grain temperature management

Control stored grain insects by grain temperature management

Paper, American Society of Agricultural Engineers (87-6035): 20

Temp. was monitored in bins containing wheat cooled by aeration systems. A temp. controller was used to control aeration system operation. The system initially utilized summer heat build-up with rapid grain cooling through the "critical envelope" of grain temp. where insects are most destructive in early autumn.
