Control strategies for weed species more tolerant to imazaquin

Control of (a) Ipomoea hederacea var. integriuscula and (b) Cassia obtusifolia in soyabeans using imazaquin was tested at Fayetteville, Arkansas. Preplant incorporated and pre-em. applications of 0.14 kg imazaquin/ha provided >85% control of both weed species. Over-the-top treatments of imazaquin were inadequate for control of (a). Post-em. treatments of 0.14-0.28 kg/ha applied earlier than 7 days after emergence controlled (b) at >85%.
