Controlled mating of the European oyster, Ostrea edulis

, : Controlled mating of the European oyster, Ostrea edulis. Aquaculture 57(1-4): 111-116

Full-sib families were produced of the European oyster. This is the first recorded success at controlled mating in the genus Ostrea. Progeny stocks bred from 10 pairs of Nova Scotia oysters, 10 pairs of Maine oysters amd 10 pairs of Nova Scotia X Maine oysters were studied.
