Determination of relative virus concentration for estimating the quantitative resistance of potato genotypes to potato leaf roll virus

Seven potato genotypes (4 cultivars and 3 clones) with different levels of resistance to PLRV in the field were inoculated with the virus using aphids. The relative PLRV concn in the genotypes was measured by ELISA at 15, 22 and 29 d post-infection. Results enabled the genotypes to be classified into 3 groups with different levels of quantitative resistance to the virus.
