Determination of rental share in a land-surplus economy

Bangladesh Development Studies 14(4): 113-122

Literature on sharecropping has primarily been concerned with (1) the rationale for the existence of sharecropping and (2) the explanation as to why the 50-50 share basis has been so widely used across agricultural societies. This paper concentrates on the latter.
