Economic losses in cattle through condemnation of meat at Ferreria abattoir due to unsuitable handling of animals

Veterinaria Mexico 18(4): 343-347

Improper handling, shipment and slaughter of cattle in Mexican abattoirs results in much waste of meat. In order to assess the economic loss, 250 carcasses were randomly sampled, during a 10-day period, at the Mexico City, Ferreria abattoir. The sample represented a third of the animals slaughtered.
