Effect of JHA on ecdysteroid titers in haemolymph of fifth instar larva of Bombyx mori Linnaeus (Lepidoptera)

The fifth-instar larvae of spring and summer reared groups of Bombyx mori were treated with the juvenile hormone analogue JHA-738 ((E)-1-((7-ethoxy-3,7-dimethyl-2-octenyl)oxy)-4-ethylbenzene) at 2 and 4 micro g/larva on the 5th and 3rd day, respectively. The ecdysteroid titres and the trends in the treated groups were the same as those in the control, but there was a delay of 1-2 days in the activity peak, moulting and pupation.
