Effect of different nitrogen rates on the yield and quality of spring barley in the beet production region

Effect of different nitrogen rates on the yield and quality of spring barley in the beet production region

Rostlinna Vyroba 33(1): 97-104

Results from 9 years of field trials in the beet production region with dwarf spring barley given 0, 30, 60 or 90 kg N/ha after sugarbeet or winter wheat were evaluated for grain yield and malting quality. Year, preceding crop and N rate contributed in descending order of importance to the yield, grain CP content and malt extraction rate. With both preceding crops, spring barley grain quality decreased with increase in N rate.
