Effect of feeding hatchery byproduct meal on the performance of laying hens

Effect of feeding hatchery byproduct meal on the performance of laying hens

Hydinarstvo, Vedecke Prace Vyskumneho Ustavu Chovu a Sl' achtenia Hydiny v Ivanke pri Dunaji (22): 153-163

For 6 months hens 5 months into lay were given processed hatchery byproduct meal (HBM) at 2 or 4% in diets. With 2% HBM egg production was significantly increased by 7.3% but at 4% the difference was non-significant. Egg weight and percentage of broken eggs were not affected but egg-shell quality (weight, thickness and strength) was higher with HBM. There was no effect on sensory quality of eggs.
