Effect of monensin-Na on the feed and nutrient utilization of lambs fattened on grain feed and bulk fodder

Lambs of either sex were in 3 groups of 32 each and fattened for 1 to 53 and 54 to 87 days. Groups 1 and 2 were fed on a diet of grain and hay plus monensin-sodium at 14 and 32 mg/kg, while group 3 was fed on grain feed alone. The DM uptake of groups fed on meadow hay exceeded that of lambs fattened only on grain feed by 100 and 123 g during the second phase.
