Effect of nutrients, growth regulators and fungicides on the storage behaviour of Santa Rosa plum (Prunus salicina Lindl.)

Twenty post-harvest treatments were compared. Fruits dipped in 4% CaCl2 for 2 minutes showed the highest colour development and lowest firmness loss when held at 21-26.7 degrees C. Highest TSS, reducing sugar and non-reducing sugar contents after 12 days' holding were (respectively) recorded after treatment with 4% CaCl2, 2% H3BO3 + 100 p.p.m. kinetin, and 2% H3BO3 + 1000 p.p.m.
