Effect of pigeon-pea cyst nematode, Heterodera cajani Koshy, 1967 on macro- and micro-nutrients of pigeon-pea and 'moth'

Seedlings of Cajanus cajan and Vigna acontifolia were inoculated with 1000 2nd-stage larvae of H. cajani and examined for macro- and micro-nutrients after 60 days. The concentration of N and P increased in roots but decreased in tops of inoculated plants. Accumulation of K decreased in roots and shoots of C. cajan but increased in roots and shoots of V. acontifolia. Na and S concentrations decreased in roots and increased in tops of infected plants of both crops.
