In an 8-year trial with several tall and dwarf cultivars, all, except Crisana 15/10, grew more vigorously on Mahaleb than on sour cherry rootstocks. Dwarf cultivars on sour cherry rootstocks spaced at 3.5x2.0 m produced, on average 12.2-17.7 t/ha over the first 4 cropping years and the tall cultivars spaced at 3.5x4 m produced 2.8-9.3 t/ha.
