Effect of some nutrient sprays on fruit maturity and quality of Japanese plum (Prunus salicina Lindl.) cv. Santa Rosa

Trees were sprayed with Ca(NO3)2, KNO3, CaCl2 and H3BO3 at the pit-hardening stage. The greatest increase in fruit size was recorded with KNO3, but firmness was maximum with Ca(NO3)2 at 1500 p.p.m. Total sugars were highest with KNO3 at 1000 p.p.m. and with H3BO3 at 125 p.p.m. Fruits treated with CaCl2 had the lowest values for titratable acidity.
